The Council of Princes and Princesses of the Empire of Chestra is the main body of the royal family's political power, which has the voice to rule that only comes second to the emperor's or the empress'. In the interregnum, it has always been the Council who could decide on the heir to the Chestrian imperial throne. The chief Prince-councillor/Princess-councilor could also act as or determine the Prince-regent/Princess-regent to a minor emperor/empress in case there were not an existing office.

Known succession crises of the imperial throne Edit

  • After Emperor Eduardo I's abdication, the Council was summoned to determine his heir among his children, the princes and princesses. Prince Septimius Silver Alexander, son of empress consort Silver of Westerlands, was supported by the majority of the Council and then became Emperor Septimius I.
